A Devotion on Standing Firm in Faith

In Exodus 14:13, Moses said, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again."

Standing Firm

Ephesians 6:13 reads: "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." Evil and hard times will come, and although it might be hard, God doesn’t want us to be afraid. Stand, even if your knees are shaking. I can remember being in a situation where my knees almost gave way, but they didn’t. I stood. Don’t give up on God just because life can be brutal! That’s when we need Him even more! He’s our helper in times of trouble or when we feel weak!

Facing Trials

There are seasons in life when a miracle or Divine intervention is needed to get us through—maybe a horrible sickness, losing a loved one, navigating bad relationships, or financial problems. Whatever we face that we cannot fix or make better, nothing is impossible with God, even if we have to walk through the answer of “no.”

Divine Deliverance

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had to stand in the middle of a fire with the 'fourth man.' They weren’t kept out of the fire, but they were delivered through it. We may not understand the hardships we have to face, but in Him we live, move, have our being, and are able to stand. Don’t give up, don’t quit, but having done all, stand and see the salvation of the Lord! (Exodus 14:13, 2 Chronicles 20:17, NKJV)
